Pamela Benitez
Pamela Benitez is a cultural worker and artist whose practice spans multiple disciplines.
During her time in undergrad at Hunter College she co-organized with Hunter College Dream Team on access to immigrant justice resources on the college campus. This includes the Grove Campaign to Advance DREAMer Legislation as well as being the first Dream Team Network Fellow at the New York State Youth Leadership Council.
Her work in communications has allowed her to engage in a variety of roles, including social media management for nonprofits, event planning, and marketing. As the steward of creative direction, she leads projects from concept to execution, ensuring a cohesive and impactful delivery. From 2021-2024 she was steward of the Holiday-Community Market initiative at UnLocal, a celebratory space for immigrant community vendors to showcase their businesses in a space free of charge. The event also included artists offering free workshops for families to enjoy including, mask making, mural painting, Afro-Venezuelan drums and Cumbia dance class!
Her experience with immigrant justice work has deeply shaped how she views and navigates the world. She prioritizes intentional equity and intersectionality in all her projects. She values thoughtful collaboration in efforts to build sustainable futures.
