Community Education

UnLocal’s Community Education Program collaborates with primary and secondary schools, houses of worship, community-based organizations and groups to bring free legal services and educational seminars into immigrant communities. This enables UnLocal staff to connect with some of the most difficult-to-reach undocumented residents of New York City.

UnLocal is actively working with over 60 community-based organizations to deliver these resources. Event topics have included: Know-Your-Rights-Trainings, emergency planning in the event of a raid by immigration officials, the future of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (“DACA”) updates on recent Executive Orders, Notario fraud, and more.

UnLocal has also conducted Q & A sessions with thousands of these event attendees, which allows immigrant community members to receive free expert advice from experienced professionals on topics that directly affect themselves, family members and friends.
