Hannah Schaafsma
Hannah (she/her) represents non-citizens with removal orders before U.S. District Courts, Courts of Appeal, and administrative agencies. Before joining UnLocal, Hannah worked at a plaintiffs’ law firm doing sexual assault litigation and as an Immigrant Justice Corps fellow at Just Neighbors. During her time at Duke Law School, Hannah interned with numerous immigration nonprofits, including the National Immigration Project of the National Lawyers Guild (NIPNLG), the National Immigrant Justice Center (NIJC)’s federal litigation team, and Northwest Immigrant Rights Project (NWIRP). Hannah served as Executive Director of the Duke Immigrant and Refugee Project, Editor-in-Chief of the Duke Journal of Comparative & International Law, and externed with Judge Eagles, Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina.
