Élaine Simon
Élaine Simon (she/her) is a Staff Attorney with UnLocal. In her role, she represents clients in both affirmative and defensive immigration matters before USCIS and the immigration courts.Before joining UnLocal, Élaine served as a Child Advocate Supervisor at the Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights, where she worked to support unaccompanied immigrant children in federal custody.Previously, Élaine practiced immigration law for five years at a community legal organization in Ottawa, Canada, representing low-income clients in asylum applications and appeals, family reunification, and proceedings before the Federal Court of Canada. She also clerked for a Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada.Élaine holds a J.D. and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Ottawa and is admitted to the bars of Ontario and New York. She speaks English, French, and Spanish and is grateful to live and work as a guest on the land of the Lenape (Lenapehoking).
