Daniel J Puerto
Daniel Puerto has been a passionate activist, community organizer and service provider servicing local New York City (NYC). His work for over 12 years has had a focus on grassroots community organizing, policy advocacy, service provision, popular education and entrepreneurship skills development focusing on LGBTQ+ and immigrant New Yorkers.. Daniels’ work and advocacy has directly impacted New Yorkers as they look to find better wages, safe and affordable housing and spaces to develop leadership skills for a chance at a life with dignity and respect. During COVID-19 pandemic, Daniel co-founded the Love Wins food pantry, a community food pantry servicing food insecure people led by LGBTQ+ people.
As the Senior Manager of Community Outreach and Education, Daniel supports the organization with the strategy and its implementation for both focus areas , Daniel has been recognized in news outlets such as The Indypendent, Washington Post, El Diario, Out Magazine, MSNBC and locally by the New York Council, City & State among others.
Daniel resides in East Elmhurst, not far from Jackson Heights, where he was raised since arriving in the United States.
