Cindy Zhunio
Cindy Zhunio’s passion for immigrant rights stems from her personal experiences and commitment to advocacy. During college, she interned with organizations that supported immigrant communities. After graduating from the University of New Haven, Cindy became a 2019 Community Fellow with Immigrant Justice Corps, where she saw firsthand how access to quality legal representation can change lives. This experience motivated her to pursue a career in immigration law at the City University of New York (CUNY) School of Law. She gained valuable experience in removal defense as an intern and Pro Bono Scholar at Brooklyn Defender Services and helped immigrant communities as a legal intern and volunteer at Make the Road NY. Now, as a 2024 Justice Fellow at UnLocal, Cindy focuses on post-order removal defense for unaccompanied minors.
