Mariya Ohulchanska
Mariya is a second-year MSW student at SIlberman School of Social Work joining this year to support the UnLocal community as part of the Immigrant Wellness team. Originally from Kyiv, Ukraine, Mariya has always been passionate about working with those seeking safety and opportunity in the United States and has 10 years of experience working with refugees and immigrants. She has worked as a Refugee Resettlement Case Manager in Buffalo, NY and later transitioned to community development and literacy work internationally, most recently working in Mawlamyine, Myanmar. Mariya is a determined client advocate, working to provide holistic, client-centered, and trauma-informed support to clients and families navigating their transition to life in the United States. Mariya speaks English, Ukrainian, and Russian.
